The shape of the trapezoidal thread corresponds to an isosceles trapezoid with an angle of 15°. This results in a flank angle of 30°. Due to its special shape, the trapezoidal thread can transmit very high axial forces and movements very well. This special thread is used, for example, in screw clamps, vices, CNC milling machines, lathes and forklifts. The thread is designated by the abbreviation "Tr", the diameter and the thread pitch. Here is an example: Tr 14 x 3 is a trapezoidal thread with a diameter of 14 mm and a thread pitch of 3 mm.
